We spent a relaxing morning at the Sofitel in Papeete. For me, sitting in the shade on a beach, listening to the water and reading is a great vacation. But, we were not destined to spend all day in Papeete. So, we packed our bags, made our way to the ferry and rode across to the island of Moorea. Tahiti Nui is strking, but Moorea is even more striking with the green mountains rugged mountains. Luckily, each step of the way, we have a van waiting for us so we don't have to move the onimous mound of luggage that is required for 5 people who are traveling for 3 weeks and have to dress for the beach, casual, smart casual and perhaps formal. Anywho, we arrive at the Intercontinental Hotel Moorea. All the facilities are open, so you can feel the breeze and see the beach or lush vegetation from almost everywhere.
Tahiti is beautiful, but pricey. I try not to spend much time converting from polynesian francs to US dollars. Oh well, how many times will I have this opportunity?
Off to enjoy another evening in paradise!
